YEAR 10 STUDENTS

A reminder that ALL Year 10 students will be welcomed back to full classes from Monday 24th May (i.e. no rota arrangements).

Year 10 will be assessed by one-hour examination in each of their subjects between Thursday 17th and Wednesday 23rd June. These assessments are to monitor individual student progress on the IGCSE courses; they will not be reported as end-of-year examinations

YEARS 7, 8, 9

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will not take formal end-of-year examinations. Year 9 students will be examined in Maths, Science and English to check standards of attainment in these subjects, and to fairly measure applicants to Year 10 from outside the Collegiate against our baseline data.

Subject teachers will be carrying out more informal classroom assessments with Years 7, 8 and 9. Each will provide details of such assessments to their students in good time.

UNIFORM

Thank you to parents for the positive response to our concern about some current student dress. Parents are advised that students will be required to attend in full school uniform from the start of the new academic year in September. Mrs Collette Coty will soon be providing details about ordering school uniform, which will then be available for collection from the Collegiate uniform boutique towards the end of the summer vacation.

WATER

We will once again be making fresh drinking water available to students on campus from tomorrow. Students will be able to have their drinking containers refilled from a water fountain by a supervising adult, who will disinfect the water spout with a Clorox or Lysol wipe before and after each refill.

AIR CONDITIONING

We are pleased to announce that permission has today been granted by the TCI Chief Medical Officer for schools to recommence the use of air conditioning in their classrooms. We will be turning on our AC from tomorrow, ensuring the ventilation of all classrooms during breaks, and a close cleaning and disinfection of AC filters on a weekly basis.

HALF TERM

We would like to remind parents that the school will be closed for half term on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th May. The Monday that follows, 31st May, is Jags McCartney Day – a national holiday. Lessons will recommence on Tuesday 1st June.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing collaboration.

With best regards,

Mr Anthony Wilkinson

Vice-Principal
