PTA Fundraising

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the recent PTA Poker Night, whether as a participant or as a helper. Around $3000 was raised for the PTA sixth form scholarship fund. We could raise so much more, and organise many more social events for members of the school community, if the PTA had many more pro-active members coming forward to participate. It is not a minority or special interests group. Our students – YOUR children – all benefit from an active Parents and Teachers Association. Just one hour of your time once a month could make a huge difference. Please contact your class rep, or bwicpta@gmail.com to express your interest and ideas.

World Book Day

BWIC marked World Book Day on 2nd March with an entertaining quiz organised by Mrs Merrill, and by the visit of Year 9 students to local primary schools, accompanied by Ms Rankin, to read short stories. Well done to all! (Photos on right)

DECR Hummingbird Project

The Collegiate hosted a visit today by Amy Avenant, DECR’s Environmental Outreach Co-ordinator, who addressed Lower School students about an initiative to increase the population of hummingbirds in Providenciales. A number of hummingbird feeders were donated to the school, and students enjoyed time with their teachers hanging these from our trees. (Photos on right)
