Changes to School Calendar/Focus on School Uniform

25th January 2023

CALENDAR UPDATES

We would like to inform you of important changes to the school calendar, due to internal and external factors of exceptional influence.

  1. The current term will now end at midday on Thursday 30th March. This is because BWIC will now be hosting the National Academic Awards in Brayton Hall on Friday 31st March.
  2. The Year 9 Information Evening, at which IGCSE options will be outlined to parents and students, will now take place on Tuesday 28th March.
  3. Study leave for Cambridge examination years 11, 12, and 13 will begin on Monday 24th April.
  4. The Entrance Exam for prospective admission to Year 7 (September 2023) will now take place on Saturday 29th April. This will be followed by an induction day for successful candidates – the date to be decided.
  5. We regret that the Open Day originally planned for Wednesday 3rd May has had to be canceled. Open Day will be relaunched under a new format next academic year.
  6. With the coronation of HM King Charles III on Saturday 6th May, a national holiday has been announced for Monday 8th May.
  7. The national holiday on 12th June recognising the official birthday of HM the Queen has been replaced by a new holiday for the birthday of HM the King on Monday 19th June.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

We would like to remind parents that students must wear the correct BWIC school uniform at all times. Details of our uniform are given in the information pack distributed to parents of all new students at the start of the year and are also listed in the BWIC Code of Conduct, co-signed by all students and parents. A reminder of our uniform standards will be given to all students and will be firmly applied from Monday.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and kind collaboration.

With best wishes,

Anthony Wilkinson

Vice-Principal
