BWIC Track Team Make Us Proud!

Inter High 2018 was a huge success for the school. The British West Indies Collegiate Track Team finished in 7th place overall, which I am very pleased with, as we performed well against all other schools of a similar size.

I am extremely proud of all the students for their efforts in training – 7 am every morning, in the run up to the event. Some notable performances include:

  • Chyna Simmons – 2nd place in the Class 4 400m,
  • Braden Higgs – 2nd place in Class 2 Shot Put,
  • Darius Coakley – 2nd place in the Class1 100m,
  • 3rd place for the Class 3 girls 4x100m relay
  • Savanna Barker – 3rd place junior girls 1500m,
  • Will Parish – 3rd place boys open 3000m.

An extra special mention to:

  • Nichole Watkins who won gold in the Class 1 Javelin,
  • Alexis Anara who achieved a gold in the Class 3 400m.

We have now laid the foundations to go on and achieve more success on the track next year and I can’t wait to start coaching the team again after Easter.

Thank you to all the parents and teachers who have supported the students.

Thank you to the entire Track Team for their commitment and perseverance.

Mr Chapman
