Start to BWIC “We beat Irma” School Year 2017-18

Dear parents and students,

Staff met today in school and agreed that our best course of action is to open for classes at 0745 on Monday 18th for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. Students will each need to bring a packed lunch and drinks as cafeteria facilities will not be available. Our intention is then to open to all students from Year 6 upwards from Monday 25th. Our reason for staggering the return to classes is logical: we do not have access to our full range of resources as yet, nor will we for a number of weeks.

Thank you to staff, parents and students who gave their all today clearing away a lot of the debris; yet here’s the thing: STUDENTS, WE NEED MORE OF YOU HERE to help get your campus ready. Bring a broom, a rake, a saw, a hammer, water, a hat, long pants, sensible shoes, work gloves, and a smile. Help us to help each other get the Collegiate campus back into shape. Those that came today with their parents had great fun and can be proud to say of their efforts, “I did that!”.

PARENTS, ALUMNI, FRIENDS OF BWIC: I know that many of us need to get our own houses in order, but just an hour or two of our time would really help get the campus back as it was (or better). PLEASE can you help? Each day for the rest of this week we shall have two work sessions daily: 0800-1200 and 1200-1600. Do come along and join us!

Thank you.
