MOCK EXAMS
It has been a very busy week, with our senior students sitting important mock IGCSE or A-level exams. With one or two exceptions, these are now complete and our teachers will now be feeding back to these students on assessment and with advice for improvement.

WORLD BOOK DAY
Today is a Jeans Day to celebrate World Book Day, whilst raising funds for 9’s end-of-year trip to the Dominican Republic. Many of our students have shown their creativity by coming to school dressed as characters from their favourite books.

SCIENCE FAIR
We give our congratulations to Zobreann Brown, Andrei Telniceanu, Christal Mattis, and Kirnae Rigby who represented the Collegiate in the National Science Fair Quiz yesterday. Although the team did not win, they performed extremely well in the competition. Well done! We are proud of you!

SWIM COMPETITION
Our student swimmers leave for competition in the Bahamas today, each with the goal of improving on their personal bests. Good luck to Alex Maclaren, Thais Burgess, Lillian Taylor, and Selin Kilic. Do the best you can, ladies, and have fun doing so!

INTER-HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD
This weekend is the occasion of the Inter-High School Track and Field competition at the National Stadium, and many of our students will be taking part. The event begins on Saturday and continues through Sunday to Monday. We wish all our competing athletes well for their events, and strongly encourage parents, families and friends to come along to support and cheer on our school team.

CAREERS FAIR
Please take note that next week, we shall be swapping timetables on Tuesday and Wednesday: this means that we will be running Wednesday’s lessons on Tuesday, and Tuesday’s lessons on Wednesday. This is to enable us to host a Careers Fair on Tuesday afternoon. Organised by alumni of the Collegiate, there will be representatives of the following professions on hand to present and explain their occupations to our students, some of whom (current Year 9) will be considering their IGCSE options very soon. The following professional fields will be represented: Law, Accounts & Finance, Quantity Surveying, Journalism and Broadcasting, Mechanical Engineering, Orthodontics, Business, and Hospitality.

Important dates:
Monday 11 March  COMMONWEALTH DAY (school closed)
Saturday 16 March  OPEN FORUM (for prospective sixth form students)
Thursday 21 March Years 12 & 13 PARENTS EVENING
Saturday 30 March BWIC ENTRANCE EXAMS (for Sept 2019 entry to Year 7)

FAREWELLS
FINALLY, news may already have reached your ears that Mrs Russell, Ms Rankin, and Miss Murdock will be leaving the Collegiate at the end of June to pursue their careers in other parts of the world. We will, of course, be expressing our thanks and saying a proper farewell to them at the end of the school year. Mrs Sarah Chapman will taking maternity leave from Easter, and will be replaced by Ms Jestina Delancy, whom we are very pleased to welcome back to the Collegiate.

Best regards,

Anthony Wilkinson
