British West Indies Collegiate Weekly News

22nd January 2018

Thank you for your positive response by ensuring that our students arrive on time for school and in correct uniform. Such compliance makes a big difference to student focus, as well as our daily routines, and helps re-establish a sense of normality after the disruptions of last term.

I would like to remind you that we have three Teachers & Parents Evenings coming up, starting with that for Year 7 on Thursday this week:

  • Year 7 PTE – Thursday 25th January: 5.00 – 7.00 PM
  • Year 8 PTE – Thursday 8th February: 5.00 – 7.00 PM
  • Year 9 PTE – Tuesday 13th February: 5.00 – 7.00 PM

Your child will be issued with an appointment sheet and will ask their teachers to fill this in according to mutual availability. Interviews are restricted to five minutes; should you require longer to discuss matters concerning your child, please arrange appointments during the school day by phoning Ms Bain (232-3331), or emailing your child’s teacher(s) directly.

On Saturday 3rd February, we have our annual Open Forum for prospective Sixth Form students. More details are available on the enclosed flyer.

In addition to all other events indicated on the school calendar for Hilary Term, the PTA has these three in the pipeline. Your collaboration with these and all PTA initiatives is warmly invited, as all funds raised assist in the education of BWIC students.

  • Sat Jan 27th – PTA Yard Sale (aka Car Boot Sale). $25 a table.
2.00 – 5.00PM. It is hoped to make such sales a regular event.
  • Fri Feb 9th – PTA Movie Night (Brayton Hall)
  • Sat Feb 24th  – PTA Poker Night (Brayton Hall)

Any matters dealing with PTA, especially offers of help and innovative fundraising ideas, please contact Marie-Claude (MC) Joly by email at gsd@express.tc .

With very best wishes,

Anthony Wilkinson
