OPTIONS SURVEY

We have asked students in Years 7, 8 and 9 to complete a survey about IGCSE courses, taking into account the possibility of adding Music and/or Physical Education to the range of IGCSEs we offer. These are both academic courses with a practical component; more information is available at

Whether we are able to offer either or both of these courses all depends on viable uptake.

The survey must be returned by Tuesday 7th March.

PTA MEETING

The PTA meeting planned for Monday 6th Feb will take place, but with apologies from Mr Wilkinson.

LOST PROPERTY

We have an extraordinary amount of ‘lost’ property currently stored in our school office. Much of it cannot be returned to its rightful owners as the items are not labelled. There are three issues to be actioned: 1) If your child has lost anything recently, please have them visit Ms Bain’s office to search the lost property and see if it has been handed in; 2) please encourage your child not to leave items of clothing, footwear or bags in the changing rooms and expect them to be there when they return the next day; 3) please take the time this half-term holiday to ensure that all items of clothing and equipment for school have been labelled clearly with the name of your child.

NO-UNIFORM DAY AND MOVIE NIGHT

The PTA will be raising funds on Wednesday 8th February. Firstly, with St Valentine in mind, all BWIC students are invited to attend school in red clothes that day. To be allowed to do so, there will be a voluntary contribution of $2. That afternoon there will be a movie night in Brayton Hall, starting at 3.30pm, with refreshments also available. A nominal entrance fee will be charged. Students are reminded of the expectation that they will keep the Hall clean, and tidy up when the movie has finished.

YEAR 8 PARENTS’ EVENING

The Year 8 Parents’ Evening will take place on Thursday 9th Feb from 5.00pm in Brayton Hall. Students will have been asked to make appointments for their parents, restricted to five minutes each. Any parents needing longer to discuss any issue with a member of staff or administration is asked to make an appointment during the school day by contacting Ms Bain.

HALF TERM HOLIDAY

The Collegiate will be closed for half term from 3.30pm on Friday 10th February to 7.30am on Monday 20th February.

MOCK EXAMS

Years 11, 12 and 13 have their mock examinations from Tuesday 21st Feb, and need be in school only for the papers they need to sit. Year 11 must attend in proper school uniform. Each year group has been issued with a general schedule, and understands that their exams finish on different days. Year 12 will now resume normal classes on Tues 28 February, Yr 13 on Thurs 02 March, and Year 11 on Monday 6th March.
