19th September 2017

Dear parents and students,

With the approach of Hurricane Maria, it has been decided to close the Collegiate from 3.45pm today so that all members of the school community can make preparations for the safety of themselves, their loved ones, and their property.

Once Maria has passed by, an assessment of the school campus and its infrastructure will be made. We shall then let the BWIC community know when classes are able to recommence.

Assuming that there will be no other major hurricane chasing Maria in our direction, we will then also let you know our strategy for recovering some of the face-to-face teaching and learning time that has been lost.

Thank you for your continued understanding.

Please do not underestimate the power of nature. Stay safe, everyone!

With best wishes,
Anthony Wilkinson
Vice-Principal, British West Indies Collegiate
