Learner from British West Indies Collegiate achieves Top in the World results in Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards
A student from the British West Indies Collegiate has received a prestigious award from Cambridge International Examinations to acknowledge her outstanding performance in the June 2015 Cambridge examination series.
Cambridge Top in the World awards recognise the success of learners who have achieved the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject. The following learner at BWIC received a Cambridge Top in the World award:
Achsah Wildish – Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award – Top of the World AS-Level Mathematics
The Vice-Principal of BWIC, Mr Anthony Wilkinson, said that the award recognised the talent, dedication and commitment of both learners and staff. He said: “This is an outstanding achievement for Achsah. Not only did she score 100% in a particularly challenging subject; representing our small school, in our small island state, she has surpassed the performance of students in countries such as India, China, Korea and Singapore who have tended to dominate the field of Mathematics. Achsah is an immensely talented and well-balanced young woman. We at BWIC, and all of us in the TCI, are extremely proud of her success, and the honour and recognition she brings to these shores.”
Achsah will receive her Cambridge Top in the World award at a school ceremony at 2.00pm on Thursday 21st January.
Janet Morris, Director, International Network, said: ‘It is extremely rewarding to congratulate Cambridge learners and teachers at British West Indies Collegiate who have worked so hard to achieve tremendous success in Cambridge examinations. The results are a reflection of the enormous talent in the Turks and Caicos Islands, not only among learners but also within the teaching profession. Learners from BWIC have a bright future ahead of them, and I wish them every success in their future.’
Cambridge programmes and qualifications are taken by learners in more than 10000 schools in 170 countries. They are recognised by universities and employers around the world.
