13th Sept School Begins

Sept 3, 2021

Further to last Friday’s email, I am writing to update you on the start of the new academic year.

Yesterday, I was invited to attend a meeting with the Minister of Education who announced to all principals present the face-to-face return to school for institutions hosting 300 or less students. Additionally, as we no longer have to adhere to the six-foot distancing between students in the classroom, we are able to welcome back all year groups at the same time. However, without any information made available to us prior to yesterday, we had anticipated a continuation of blended learning and had prepared timetables and classrooms to that effect. We now have to reorganise both, as well as make other arrangements to ensure the safety and well-being of both our students and teachers, including their families. Unfortunately, this will cause a slight delay in the starting date of the academic year. In order to allow us the time to be fully prepared, all students will now be returning on Monday 13thSeptember at 7:55am. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Next week, I will send you details of the COVID protocols which have to remain in place and be strictly adhered to, along with specific information about the first day of school.

Please note that our canteen will reopen on the first day of school. A menu and pre-order form will also be sent to you next week.

We very much look forward to welcoming our students on Monday 13th September.

With best regards,

Mrs Sylvie Wigglesworth
Principal
